12 hour shifts! Urgh! I hate em'. We should be going on to some weird ass shift system somtime soon as well. I hate shift work.
We did a hill walk today. Carried 10kg in a backpack, the other lad I was with carried 2 x 10kg weights. 1 in each hand. Took 10 minutes and then swapped backpack for weights. Going to build up to greater weights and quicker time. We got some funny looks from fellow walkers with us carrying weights. Quite funny.
Oh, did I mention I hate working shifts??

GUTTED! Just failed my Community Sports Leader Award this weekend. Absolutly gutted. I think it's the wrong course for where I'm going anyway but it still sucks. My psychology homework is stacking up higher than everest and I need to re-write my CV for a job. Arrrgh!

What did you fail on? Why did you fail? Can you resit it? Anyway I thought you were up for joining the Peelers?
Nil desperandum my friend, do not worry about tomorrow, tomorrow has enough cares of its own.

Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha! 7 til 3 Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahah! 12 hour shifts Luxuryyyyyyyyyyyyy!
I work, or so it seems every waking hour, and no I dont sleep 20 hours a day before you think of saying it! I have never actually tallied up my hours of work but I gurantee that pro rata they may wage would be less than an illegal immigrant in a sweatshop. But then again, I do love the work I'm in and that speaks volumes!
I am going off on conference for a few days so don't wait up for me.

What do you do Ray? I think you told me once already. 7-3 rocks.
I failed on confidence and communication ability which, to be honest, was pretty dire. I can resit but I'm going to ask if I can do a different section. Like the warm up. Easy peasey. We had to take a session in a sport I wasn't familier with in an environment I would never work in and with people I'd never coach. I'm pretty hacked off about that but cest la vie. I suppose thats what a sports coach does... I'll pass it next time. I was just annoyed at the time.

Yep, that's it. Top, top, top secret. Actually I've just escaped and managed to find one of those fan-dangled internet cafe's.
I can't get to computer cos I'm either working or sleeping. Even struggling to get the reps in!
Anyway, should be back in a few weeks. Good to see you're all coping without me but hopefully not too well eh.

Hey up guys n' gals. I'm back home now so hoorah! I have a general query and would like to know you guys's opinions.
I young lad I know has been constantly bullied and tormented at a school he goes to. It's been like this for years but he's been content to let it slide cos' he's happy for the most part with his mates. Just recently though these bullies have got worse and have attacked him and his friends. On one instance his girlfriend was nearly raped. Because there was more witnesses on the bullies side than my mates (15 + people) the police couldn't do anything. Now one of these lads was also recently trying to 'bottle' my mate and had thrown a brick at him. My mate subsequently hit this other lad in the head with the brick.
The result: My friend has been expelled from school, cautioned by the police and grounded by his parents. The other lad has gotten away with it free.
I'm toying with the idea (for a few weeks) with 'having a word' with this young man and maybe asking him to leave my friend alone? Is this right? What options are there available do you think??

Alex ,
I think it would depend on exactly what you mean by 'having a word'...

I understand your concern but again I ask. What other options are there available?

Alex,
What you want to do is honorable. However, let me caution you toward restraint, or even pro's and con's
Pro's 1. You can have this conversation and it might work for short term. 2. You may even quell the situation. 3. Your friend would be safter, as long as it is conversation and not too threatening in nature
Con's
1. Could cause retaliation on the part of your young friend
2. Could cause the bully to have his friends bully you (Big Mistake)
3. could cause some legal problems depending on the situation
4. The question to ask yourself is it really worth the time and effort to get involved.
Reminder, I am only arm chair quarterbacking this from the USA, but I am trying to get your mind thinking prior to any adverse action.
Oh! by the way, Welcome back.
Tim 1.
