His beliefs are based around JKD, that if it works use it, and use certain arts as a 'base' from which to develop; For ground work there is a lot of BJJ, for stand up and clinch its muay thai techniques. Very much into the whole 'Keep it simple stupid' thing.... Obviously no kata's. Like you mentioned, is set up in a Vale Tudo way... you only get higher in the 'system' by rolling with someone a higher rank than you and holding your own. There are no belts. If your interested I can put you in touch with someone who runs and instructs at a Straight Blast facility.... I've heard only positive reviews, but for $90AU for one session I'd hope so

If someone is a 'Master' does it mean they can't get any better? (retoric?)
Answers on a postcard.

They could become a Masters Master. Speaking of masters, I seen an advertisement for a Martial Arts class here in SA, and he states he's "Australia's Master Instructor" and a 12th Dan Has any one else heard of a 12th Dan?

Glenn,
No not yet, Somebody trying to make a name for himself or he is trying to set a new standard. He is probabley one of those self-proclaimed masters with a big ego.

That could be like me being 15th Dan in Alexjutsu. I've heard of Dan's going up because so many people were x dan already. I think the top dogs can do this. It's like in kendo (or whatever it is, the one with the ceremonial kata type thing with a 'live' blade) where the Master Master (as Glen put it) can change the kata's. In theory I guess you could get everyone doing the funky chicken. ??

In theory I guess you could get everyone doing the funky chicken. ?? I had to chuckle when I read this. In one Friday circa March our club has to abandon one of the Friday classes as the place we normally trained had an annual chicken display!
