Okay, as you may have noticed, the forums had an overhaul. To see whats new have a look at: www.proboards.com/Home-Features.htmlUse this thread to discuss the changes. IAOMAS members can discuss utilizing changes to this actual forum (with the new features) in the Admin section. IAOMAS

One of the annoying things is not being able to see that theres new, or in fact any threads/topics/posts in the passworded sections, like the instructors! May be its just me! Im off to look for a resolve for it! Stuart

Apparently the new V4 is causing a few headaches. Just have a look at the support section - support.proboards.com/?board=supportI posted a question at 2am and theres already already 2 pages of questions in above it! So any minors errors we encounter, we'll have to be patient!

Just noticed, if you had any preferences set in the IM section, eg. notification, you need to go & redo them!

The smileys don't seem to work when you click on their icon whilst composing a message.
Also, the ability for the boards to notify you of replies to a topic seems to no longer exist, which is a shame.

The 10 most recent is how I usually approach the boards but they don't always register.

Also, the ability for the boards to notify you of replies to a topic seems to no longer exist, which is a shame. You cant get smileys in the quick reply box, its simply a text only box. The smileys come up when you use the full thread or quote the original message. To get notified of replies, simply bookmark the thread (box at bottom of full post) & go to your profile a select the book mark & select 'notify by email' -problem solved! Stuart

You need to be signed in to see posts in sections that need signing in for. For password protected boards, you need to go into the actual board! Stuart

And I can't believe I have to go through all that just to get e-mail notification; whatever happened to not fixing what isn't broken? Hmph! You only have to do it once, just set the book mark preferences in the ALL box to email, then when you bookmark a thread (tick box at bottom) it will automatically email you if someone else replies!

Hmm, not sure whats happening then! Dont want to rub it in, but they work for me! See?: ;D You cant get smileys in the quick reply box, its simply a text only box. The smileys come up when you use the full thread or quote the original message. To get notified of replies, simply bookmark the thread (box at bottom of full post) & go to your profile a select the book mark & select 'notify by email' -problem solved! Stuart I wasn't on about the quick-reply box. If you select 'quote', for example, you get directed to a separate screen like the one you always accessed to enter a post -- which did, and still does, have smileys. And when I click on any of those, nothing happens. And I can't believe I have to go through all that just to get e-mail notification; whatever happened to not fixing what isn't broken? Hmph!

Dear IAOMAS Forum member,
Due to the recent upgrades on the IAOMAS Forum (running PBv4), we are able to do away with the old password system.
From this point on, all members have been assigned to a group (except for board staff members).
There are three groups:
1. IAOMAS Instructors 2. IAOMAS students 3. Registered Boards members (which remains as before, with a couple of new rankings)
Only certain groups are now able to view (or even see they exsist) certain boards (listed below). If you cannot see the board listed below, it means you are not meant to access it (but it is there - honest) NOTE: If you are an IAOMAS member, either student or instructor, and your profile hasnt changed, please contact one of the Global Moderators or Admin who can update your profile to the correct group & enable you to visit the right boards. (view staff under the members link). Please include details of your club, country, state, your name, profile name etc etc.
Some profiles may have been missed in this operation, this is due to either not recognising your name/profile (hence the use of full names being an advantage) or simply because I had to try & edit 500+ profiles. Also, most profiles under 3 posts havnt been changed (though you can still get them changed by contacting a Global Moderator).
The forum is divided up into sections:
Information: viewable by all
General: viewable by registered members, IAOMAS Students & IAOMAS Instructors (except the General board which is viewable by all
IAOMAS Students: viewable by IAOMAS Students only
IAOMAS Instructors: viewable by IAOMAS Instructors only
IAOMAS Internal: viewable by IAOMAS Students & IAOMAS Instructor
Complaints: viewable by complaints officer & Global Moderators only
The Examiners panel has been moved to the Instructors area, but can only be updated by a moderator or Admin, but is viewable to all instructors - email if you wish to be included here.
Finally, the Archive section is being reviewed but remains as usual for the time being.
Note: All board members are advised to go to the IM (Instant Message section) and set it up to notify you via email if you have an instant message.
CALENDAR The Calendar section can now be posted on by all registered members, for IAOMAS events only. Simply click on a date and put in the details of the event. This will be changed if its abused!
If you have any questions, please psot in the admin section or the General board under the PBv4 updates post.
Enjoy,
IAOMAS Admin
