personally, I'm not one with the gift of gab. Not that I won't , and haven't posted, but sometimes as I read through the replies, my point is there so why rehash sometime to death? If I feel storngly about some thing though, I will give my opinion or help if I think it will help. Brent

I try to post as often as I can. I find it very difficult to get online most of the time due to work commitments, but when I have a spare minute or two, I always show my face and reply to something.

Like above for me too, little enough time as it is with a full time job(Trainee Fire Fighter) a Club to run(4 classes a week) and the need to spend time with my Friends and Family(3 year old son) Posting on here tends to be a little further down the list than i'd like it to be

Well I'm not sure how some people have so much time to post as it is. I have 4 children, a wife, a full time job, and classes to teach. Other interests as well. Maybe some people are just really fast typists?
Although this seems to have stopped somewhat there has been a major problem with posts digressing to one liner inside jokes between about 7 people on the forum. It also seems like many people post without really having anything at all to say. Those poster titles (ie. forum god) seem to be a real ego boost.
That being said, I love the forum and look forward to reading the conversations. There are many incredibly articulate people who's words I respect. I'd like to see the forum become more international as well. Most posters appear to be from the UK. A few from the US, a couple from Australia, and one from Canada. Maybe we can outreach more?

Maybe we can outreach more? in principle you are right, fully correct and nothing you say isn't true. however, those inside jokes between 7 people on this forum (yes i'm one of them) keep a continuous posting going. this means every time anybody logs in there are several new posts... without these inside jokes, this would be significantly less...a forum simply doesn't run withouth inside jokes. it dies.... saying that, i think these 7 peoples (almost all god by now) have also posted some seriously high quality material! ... again, your completely right, but there is another side to the coin. rgrds, oli

Agreed matey. I think if folk don't wanna post then they don't wanna post. Nuff said. I can understand where folk come from on this but there isn't a real urgency for the forums to fill up to massive levels overnight is there? (In my opinion)
People will come and people will go. I've been quiet recently from not having anything to add (inteligent anyway) and simply because I've being doing other stuff or faffing about.
Just my views from a (far too) laid back individual.

Andy, Are you serious about the humerous part? ?? Tim Funny how that one line can illicit a repsonse huh? Here's another case in point. This particular thread was started for people who don't post but already by page 2 we have 8 posts by forum gods. I do get the tongue-in-cheeck nature of the forums titles. Still it doesn't mean that someone won't post indescrimintely just to see their stats rise to the point of god status. Things have gotten much better since the administrators have started moderating more. It's now possible to get through a thread without wading through one inside joke after another. They do give us private mail on the board as well. It might be a better place for such snappy banter. Simply it's hard to interject a post into a thread that has devolved. It's also hard to start a new thread if you feel it's going to be hi-jacked by non-thread related content. So anyway, Let's get back to the good times and great conversation. Nothing is directed at anyone personally. Just overall observations.

I have to say, that my problem as others is pure time. I spend as much time as possible with the wife, my kids, Karate training, work, outside hobbies (Gadgets, Fishing, Clay pigeon shooting, motorbikes etc), and two recent holidays. These past couple of weeks have to admit but even the football also took up a lot of my time . I do however log in and try to catch up on all the new info and discussions in the forum, and have made comments where I feel I have something useful to say, disagree with, or reply to a direct question etc. Funnily enough it takes quite some time (my poor 56k dial up connection ) just to read everything that has been added since each log on. As some of you are aware, I am a 'junior' instructor, and have a lot to learn, I have learnt a lot in the short time being a member of the IAOMAS from the forum pages, and when I get to a stage when I can give some relevant experiences, knowledge or methods I use in my particular art then I will do gladly. I'm not the sort to shy away, but to an extent I am in awe of the vast knowledge and experience you guys and girls have built up over (in some cases ) more years than I have lived! I will attempt to add comments whenever I can, but it may take some time before I become a GOD ;D Keep you all posted

I don't post as often as most, the main reason being I work 9-10 hours a day as an internet designer, as such the thought of coming home and spending another hour in front of the computer is about as appealing as a pint of lager to a terminally hungover student the morning after. When I can I will, when I can't...go figure
