My name is Dave Anderson (well I think so anyway) and I train and teach Tae Kwon-Do/Taekwondo as I believe it should be taught (or at least it was when I started). I live in the smallest county in the UK, Rutland, and have done since the early eighties but have also lived in Scotland, Germany, Norfolk and Lincolnshire in my time. I was introduced to martial arts by my father and have studied Judo under him also and experienced other arts through associations with service people and the Prison Service (they do it for real regularly). I am a third degree but consider experience to mean more than rank and have been studying on and off for thirty years or so. I do not like (understatement) politics in martial arts and believe that any art is only as good as the person doing it. For me there is no ultimate art and I am willing to learn from anyone who has anything to offer. Martial Arts used to be a way of life and not just a way to make a living. Dave.

Hi all,
My name is Bryson Keenan. I have been training since 1968, primarily in Gojuryu Karate and the 'freestyle' system of my instructor Bob Jones (Zendokai). I spent 22 years in the Australian Army and helped develop what is now the Aussie Army's 'Close Quarter Fighting' (CQF) program, so I also teach 'Combatives' to military, police and security personnel.
I am a Scots-born Aussie, but currently reside in Indonesia, where I am a technical advisor for an international security risk management firm.
My school is the 'BJC - Koryujuku'. BJC stands for 'Bob Jones Combatives' and the 'Koryu' in my traditional dojo title is not 'old style', but 'Red Dragon', in honour of my teacher, Bob Jones, who got that nickname in his early years. A 'juku', by the way, is an 'academy' or private school.
I am an instructor in traditional and contemporary martial arts as well as combatives.
I am now a member of IAOMAS, as I support the vision of the organisation. Being a traveller myself, it is great to think of the doors that IAOMAS will open for fellow martial arts travellers.
I look forward to correspondence, debate and hopefully some training with other members of the group.
Regards,
Bryson
