Okay, okay... don't delete me, I've been busy lately 1. real name: David Moore 2. style/s: Wing Chun and my own system, Ming Wei Dao 3. country & area: USA, State of Georgia, near the capitol (Atlanta area) 4. name of school: Ming Wei Dao Association 5. I am an instructor in my spare time and learn as much as I can all the time. Aren't we all students? 6. I am very proudly a member of IAOMAS. 7. I have studied a little of these arts: Ninjutsu, Aikido, Ishinryu, Northern Style Praying Mantis Kung Fu, Wa-Lum System (praying mantis upper body/monkey footwork), Shaolin Five Animals, other eclectic blends, such as a little of Bruce Lee's Jeet Kune Do and a little Muay Thai. I am currently establishing a relationship with a teacher of Ishinryu, so that I can expand my horizons a little more. I love chess, intellectual debate, camping in the woods, training in cold weather, breaking (just for fun), playing with traditional weapons, and exchanging martial philosophy. Currently, I am working full-time as an electrician and at the same time attending Colorado Technical University Online with a full load of classes. I have so far maintained a 4.0 average, but have not retained a full head of hair doing it... LOL! With much brotherly love, David

My real name is kind of obvious lol.... My name is Bobby
i havent really trained in a lot of martial arts, i've only trained in Muay Thai for about 2 months.(stopped because of money problems) i would like to learn other styles
I live in the United states, California
Well i still go to Johansen Highschool. So im a student
I would love to learn other kinds of martial arts, i love boosting my strength and speed, i also read everyonce in a while to work on my mind. Even know i work on that all the time at school. Oh ya i posted a post about a month back on wanting to increase my strength and speed quickly in one month. Well i did increase my press ups to 305(i only try doing this many press ups at one time once every 2 weeks because this takes to much out of me.) I also increased my bench max from 230 to 245. So im happy. But i dont think i really worked on my speed at all. And i think i know what drives me to push so hard on raising my strength, i just wanna be able to knock someone out twice or three times my size in one hit.

On behalf of: Dave Walton (dwalton)
I had better introduce myself lest I get deleted from the system. My name is Dave Walton. I am a 2nd degree ITf and 1st degree WTF black belt in Tae Kwon Do, and I also hold an extensive background in Aikido, although the school I train at (Forest City Tae Kwon Do) is unable to give out an Aikido shodan, so I am content with my black belts in TKD. I practice in London, ON, Canada as both a student and an instructor. Unfortunately my training has been somewhat curtailed as of the past year or two, primarily due to the birth of my first daughter. The time away has allowed me some time to use my academic background, which spans my professional degree of physiotherapy, as well as my graduate work in the realms of neurophysiology and exercise physiology, to begin work on a comprehensive manual for martial arts instructors (safe and effective exercises, etc...). I am interested in the threads that are going on this website, and I will probably start posting some replies from a science perspective. I look forward to hearing from many of you. Sincerely, Dave Walton

On behalf of: Brent May (aka Ronin)
Hello to all, I guess it's time for introductions. I am Brent May. I, along with my sons, run Ronin Kempo Karate in Calgary Alberta, Canada.
It's a small school with about 40 students and we run out of a community hall. We started about a year and a half ago and we are quite content with the size.
I am a 2nd Degree Black Belt in Kempo, and I had studied kempo and Kali under Sensei Gil Lafantaisie here in Calgary for about 12 years.
As this is a new school and all the students are new, we are going through some growing pains, but it's the way we want it, and wouldn't change it for anyhting.
We teach kempo to students from 5 years of age and older. The Kali, well that's for later, when I'm reasonably sure that no one will mame themselves when I put a weapon in their hand.
That's about all for now.
B. May Ronin Kempo Karate

Introduction « Thread started on: May 25th, 2004, 10:46pm »
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hi all IAOMAS members. My name is Wayne Foulkes and have been involved in the arts for 37 years. I have studied Kenpo, Ju jitsu(2 systems) Atemi Jutsu, Spirit Combat, Pa kua kung fu and Tai Chi. I oversee 2 schools in the Greater Manchester area and welcome any visitors to our classes. I think an arganisation with the ethos of the IAOMAS was most definately needed. It is good to see martial artists joining together out of respect rather than ego and financial gain.
" The more you sweat in peace, the less you bleed in war" schools motto. well done Stuart

New from Wiltshire « Thread started on: May 12th, 2004, 7:31pm »
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hello,
I have heard a little about IAOMAS from my previous club and thought that I might check it out.
I have been training in martial arts for 6 years. Firstly starting with Boxing and found that I enjoyed the contact and the comradship. After a year I found a local Jujitsu club in my hometown Melksham and began learning Jujitsu. I obtained my black belt after two years and taught all the lessons at the club until I got shafted by the head instructor.
After this I stopped martial arts for about 6 months (I needed a rest). I felt however that I needed to go back to the martial arts world and started Tae-Kwon-Do. I taught some of Lee Childs black belts groundwork for a short period and still occationally do.
I began teaching in Trowbridge (wiltshire) about three months ago in a martial arts center (where many different martial arts lessons are held) however I didnt get many people turning upto the classes.the owners cancelled my lessons and I was shafted once again. Personally I wasnt in it for the money, its the teaching I always liked, and the fact that you can always learn something new no matter how long you have bee in martial arts.
Anyway so now im in search of another martial art. Any ideas?Well thats me.
This is my first post onto the forum, so be kind!
Thanks.
