Hi everyone, Since I'm a programmer by profession, I'm always looking for little projects to work on that I can use and integrate into the other aspects of my life. One such program that I have begun is called InSign. It's a small program that I use to administrate my v. small martial arts school. At the moment, it's not very advanced, since I can add components as I need them. My offer to you is... I'm willing to let any IAOMAS members use the program for free. - YOU get to have a huge amount of input into what features you want the program to have. Just post here or send me a "Hey, I wish it did THIS!" email and I will do my best to include it. - I get to develop a complete program that meets what you need. Hopefully, it'll become a great program! The Details: I'm putting up a temporary link. If lots of people are interested, I will find a permanent home. If you would prefer, just let me know and I will email it to you. www.filefactory.com/file/647bf0/wmioch@hotmail.comJust place the InSign.exe file into a directory and double click it to start. If someone is really interested, I can make the source code available. If anyone has any questions or queries, please post them here.

Hi, this is a d**n good idea and I have some things I'd love to see from such a program:
1: The facility to print certificates from the program that hold a ID number unique to the student.
2: The facility to incorporate a logo into the printout of any stationery.
3: The ability to track a students progress in terms of classes attended, seminars attended and grade exams attended.
4: A notes facility for the student entry.
5: A birthday reminder facility
6: An insurance renewal reminder (and facility to print out a reminder letter with the students details)
Those to me would be immensely useful...an additional function that I would find useful would be some method of exporting the database in a secure format so that a web page could be used to identify the student and their current grade by their unique number.
That would be brilliant for IAOMAS as well as any instructor with a visiting or transferring student would be able to check the experience and grade of their guest without having to question them.

Have a program that does most of this. I designed and created a DOS version back in the 80s called KICKMATE, then converted it over to MS Access (2000). I will be happy to give to anyone, but don't have time to support it. So, if you know how to program in MS Access, let me know - it's all yours. You would just need to tweek it to your school's liking. 1: The facility to print certificates from the program that hold a ID number unique to the student. Yup - does it. Can do that - just not sure what you mean by "any stationary". Printing on envelopes is different than letterhead. But honestly, I use email for everything now and hardly print paper correspondance. Everything but seminars attended. Yup...and also a "GOALS" field for you to have a printout of all the student's goals that you can work on with them. . Got it - even plays "happy birthday" fo all to hear when they sign in that day. No, but can easily be added.

I would also be interested in having a look Dave, I have done a few Access courses and had a small database I was playing with, so it would be great to see how you linked all the tables and queries!
