How do Clive? Every now and then we have the IAOMAS UK Seminar at Stu's (Stuart Anslow) pad in that little town called London but you can arrange your own by all means. Additionally one of the main focuses of IAOMAS is to visit other schools and say "Hi" and train with them, have a laugh or whatever.
Where abouts are ya Clive. I'm in Lancashire, England.

Hi Clive,
How are you?
I recall chatting with you a couple of years ago when I gave you a call.
Please let me know when you organise another Multi-art seminar as we're only down the road at Brackley.
Take care,
Garth.

I think every couple of years or so. Not sure cos' I've been busy and everyone else has been busy. Whenever we're able I guess. Its generally announced on the forum though. Like I say though, anyone can arrange anything, anywhere and just put the invite out. I must admit I've not been doing my duty in visiting other schools. Same excuse as everyone else though. Too busy, I don't rate MA as high enough to sacrifice certain things plus illness... etc

Hey Garth hows it goin ? I'll let you know when I arrange one but its hard to get Instructors to commit to anything and then they dont want their students to train in anything they know nothing about and if they do they wont train in case they show themselves up or some other reason but having said that there are some with open minds that realise that its the students (from all the camps) as well as them that benefit. I'm sure that with all the technicians on this forum we could manage half a dozen different topics somehow. Its great to be with a master or two and ask them questions about their art without having to sign the OSA ! The last one I done had some Ju jitsu guys teaching us a kata with bokens and that is something I had certainly never done before (nor could have spared precious training time to take up), it was not only interesting but a good crack with my students watching me as good as cut my own head off. These kind of things make you realise that there is more out there and as its a free country (almost) you can add what you think will help your game. If anyone wants to give it a go I'll be right there. Come back on this please. All the best Garth.

If you are interested in multi style there are loads around here. I am not far from you. If you message Captaintau or BenLedwick you will open a can of worms. They are involved in them most weekends. Ben is part of Sacred spring who are a multi style group with a full calender and Peter (Captaintau) trains in nearly everything and goes to and teaches different events all the time. Both top notch instructors.

Off on a tangent, I highly recommend any seminar that either are teaching at. I am a member of the BKS - I wish I was in seminar most weekends, but work gets in the way. I go to as many as I can. Got two in two days the weekend after next, which makes up for some of it - I don't actually teach at many seminars. I don't get invited to. I put it down to either being crap or not heading my own organisation. Not sure which - "Trains in nearly everything" ;D Certainly seems that way sometimes. Actually, Tom, I've not trained with you in a while. Would be nice to catch up. I just thought; I'm a TKD practitioner now, too. When's your next Kibondo event? I'd like to come and see what you do.

I will be organising multistyle and specialist seminars for the year sometime this week, and will post a calendar of the events on IAOMAS. All of last years events were packed and I had great fun teaching and participating, Garth Bernards modern combatives was especially fun as we got to beat up his students
