Greetings IAOMAS members, my name is Erik Angerhofer, and I am the head instructor at Koryukan Boulder in beautiful Boulder, CO. We / I recently joined IAOMAS as I believe strongly in the free exchange of ideas among martial artists. The majority of my background is in Japanese martial arts, including karate and aiki jujutsu, but have also ventured out into other areas including BJJ and Taijiquan, to name a few. At Koryukan Boulder we teach / practice Koryu Uchinadi Kenpo-jutsu and Yamaneryu Kobudo. Koryu Uchinadi, developed by Patrick McCarthy, fits in well with my varied experience as it is a unique combination of tigwa (SE Asian boxing originating in old Siam), tegumi (shuaina / shuaijiaw type grappling), tuite / kyusho jutsu (quinna or seizing and restraining), and finally the signature of karate - kata (catalogues of defensive techniques against habitual acts of physical violence). People who are not familiar with old-style karate (toudi / uchinadi) or orthodox southern Chinese quanfa are often baffled by our training methods, and I've been accused of teaching everything from Muay Thai to Jujutsu (mostly by other karate people in the area!). Anyhow, we just like to train, sometimes standing, sometimes rolling around on the floor, and often a combination of the two. I look forward to sharing with the other members here, and invite you all to stop in if you're ever in our neck of the woods. Sincerely, (Thomas) Erik Angerhofer Yudansha, Koryu Uchinadi Kenpo-jutsu Yamaneryu Kobudo Head Instructor, Koryukan Boulder Boulder, CO USA www.koryukanboulder.com

Hi, my name is Steve. I started WTF Taekwondo in January 2004 at the rip old age of 40, and now I'm a 3rd kup.
I also enjoy Karate when I can, and do Kickboxing once or twice a week. It's tough, but I'm just glad to get fit!!
Now, if I could just quit the smoking!!
I also run my own business, and have recently started a Martial Arts Supply company. I know there are many out there, but, I enjoy the training so much, I decided to see if I could make my hobby a business as well!!
I'm hoping, through this, to be able to put money back into the Martial Arts clubs, via various schemes. So, if an IOMAS Moderator sees this, please feel free to get in touch with me and I can expand more.
Other than that, I shall not bore you any more with me, and I hope I can participate in the forum!
